Challenges

Convoluted Information Architecture

When One-to-ones was first conceptualized and being vetted for validation, it was intended to be a stand-alone offering. With pressure to launch and compete in the performance management market space, many mistakes were made with a complex AI, bloated features, and poor performing comprehension. With the data showing failures and beta customers complaining, it was painfully clear a pivot was needed to survive. The current IA was laid out under a microscope and the process began to eliminate redundant paths and features while still being a viable product offering for O.C. Tanners Culture Cloud product suit.

Continuous One-to-one

While in the process of simplifying from a fully-featured stand-alone product, we realized our customers simply wanted a basic note-taking app that was tied to employees’ profiles and could be influenced by HR and company initiatives. No need for robust scheduling, creation of discrete documents, or completion of data-rich forms. All managers wanted was a place to document conversations with the safety of company regulations. So we made continuous One-to-ones for Managers and Employees to have meaningful continuous conversations. Here, Culture Cloud can help elevate employee recognition, notify important events and keep ongoing communication about all things work and life, breaking the norm of the standard performance reviews.
